HOW AN ENGAGEMENT WORKS

From disclosure to market, one steady step at a time.

Every engagement is shaped around your project, but the path follows a familiar arc. Some pathways focus on one or two of these steps. Others run the whole way, from the first conversation through to the deal and well past it.

Disclose

The first conversation, and a fast answer.

An initial conversation under confidentiality where that is needed, so you can talk openly about what you have. You get a rapid go or no go view rather than the start of a long process. Knowing early costs you very little. Knowing late can cost you a year.

Validate

Testing it against what already exists.

Every successful innovation begins with a simple question: is it better than the alternatives? Evaluating an idea against existing solutions, patents and market needs helps transform a promising concept into a validated opportunity.

Strategise

The IP position, and the route to market.

IP strategy and protection routes, mapped against the commercial plan rather than filed for the sake of filing, while you work with your own patent counsel to assist in any patent filings. Then the pathway choice. Licence, spinout or industry partnership, scoped against your goals and what you can realistically resource.

Plan

A plan, and the right people around it.

A tailored commercialisation plan, with pipeline management if required. This is also where the team gets built around the opportunity, drawing on people inside your organisation and across our network, matching the right expertise to each piece of work rather than handing all of it to whoever happens to be free.

Execute

Getting it into the world.

Negotiation and partnering support through to a signed licence, or venture formation and capital raising where a spinout turns out to be the better route. We stay in the room for the parts that decide what the deal is actually worth over its whole life.

Sustain

The part that does not stop at signature.

The relationship carries on past the deal. Support while the partnership beds in, impact reporting your executive, board or funders can actually use, and help telling the story of a translation that worked. Commercialisation rarely finishes when a piece of work does.
